Here’s What I’ve Learned from Using Delta-8 THC Over the Past Year
Oct 25, 2021
So I’m a huge fan of all things cannabinoid and have been so for years (and years and years). I’m from the west coast, where I grew up with much more open laws about cannabis, whether it was medical or recreational, so much so that it became part of my lifestyle. But then, recently, last year, I had to leave the only state I’ve ever known for my job. And these days, finding a job that pays well isn’t that easy. Unfortunately, it meant moving to a state where cannabis isn’t legal.
All I can say is thank goodness for Delta-8 THC.
Unless you’ve been living under a rock for the past couple of years, you know that Delta-8 THC is a hemp-based cannabinoid made mostly from CBD that has a buzz similar to cannabis. In fact, structurally (or chemically, whatever you prefer), Delta-8 is almost the same as cannabis. But the high is much smoother, more subtle, and just all-around a more chill experience. D8 doesn’t take you over like cannabis does, and it lets you remain in control.
“Most seasoned cannabis consumers have gotten too high too fast at least once. I know I have. The last time I dabbed, I immediately felt panicked and paranoid. Luckily, those feelings dissipated quickly when I went outdoors, and I ended up having a really fun day,” wrote Leafly recently.
“What helps me salvage — or simply manage — an overwhelming cannabis experience might not work for everyone. That said, spending time in nature, being with people I trust, cuddling pets, or taking a walk can help me feel grounded and safe when the weed hits too hard. When nothing helps, I try to sleep it off,” they continued.
That’s never been something I’ve had to worry about with Delta-8 THC. Whether I use Liquid Gold Delta-8 Vapes or Delta-8 THC Bites (my two favorite brands), I never feel any paranoia or anxiety. My head remains clear, and I still get a tremendous high every time I use the product. Delta-8 THC has helped me out immensely since moving to this crazy little out in the middle of nowhere town that I now live in. It’s taken some getting used to, but I’m managing (and loving it — the Delta-8, that is).
I’ve learned a lot about this cannabinoid over the past year. Thanks to my friend at CBD Mall, I can share everything I’ve learned with you all and hopefully save you from any trouble along the way. So, without further ado, here’s a few things I’ve learned about Delta-8 THC over the past 12 months.
Delta-8 THC Is All About Finding Balance
Seriously, whether you prefer Delta-8 gummies or vapes, and whether you like a mild or strong buzz, the thing you need to remember is balance. Of all of Delta-8 THC’s possible benefits, none are more promising than its potential to supplement your naturally occurring endocannabinoids. Simply put, Delta-8 THC interacts with your body’s endocannabinoid system, which research tells us is responsible for a whole host of functions from sleep regulation to pain. Delta-8 THC, together with the endocannabinoid system, helps your body find balance.
Now, that may sound a bit out there for those of you just looking for a buzz. But please, trust me, it really works. When you take that first dose of Delta-8, let yourself melt into everything, and the entire experience will feel so much better.
The way this works is that your body has a tendency to seek a state of healthy balance. This tendency is known as “homeostasis.”
With Delta-8 THC, Find What Works Best For You
Everyone has an opinion or a recommendation when it comes to Delta-8 THC. Your friends love gummies. Aunt Edna prefers Alibi Vape Pens. Joe down at the office loves 10X Delta-8 THC. Your job is to ignore them all and do what’s best for you. Most people who use Delta-8 find it to be effective, with users taking the cannabinoid for its buzz and benefits. Common uses for Delta-8, believe it or not, include insomnia, depression, anxiety, and even pain.
Just be aware of how everything works. Vapes work faster than edibles, though edibles are better at helping people stay asleep, especially those who have insomnia. Vape pens are the preferred way to use Delta-8 among many, many people, a statistic that aligns with national trends, according to Ganjapreneur.
And yes, insomnia is one of the most common ailments for which people use D8, second only to anxiety and stress.
Don’t Be Afraid to Tell Your Doctor the Truth About Delta-8
Your doctor is, first and foremost, a grownup. They need to treat you properly, and to do so; they need all of the correct information at their fingertips. So, if you’re using Delta-8 THC, tell them. It will save you a lot of trouble in the end. And chances are, your doctor doesn’t care — and if they do, find a new doctor.
The best way to discuss Delta-8 THC with your doctor is straightforward and honest. Chances are, they’re familiar with it and what it can and cannot do, so don’t go exaggerating and telling them tall tales.
But, if your doctor doesn’t know about Delta-8 THC, now is a great time to educate them. You’ll find a good place to start is the internet, which has all sorts of important and valuable information regarding D8, cannabinoids, and the endocannabinoid system. Yes, Delta-8 gets you high, but remind them that it’s okay!
